Event Details

Yankton's Best Tri offers the best triathlon venue in the region.  The Yankton Sertoma Club has partnered with John A. Conkling Distributing, Ace Bike & Fitness and HyVee to offer the premier triathlon experience in the 4-state region.  Yankton's Best Tri will be using AllSportCentral Chip Timing for this event and will record all times and splits.  If you are looking for a flat and fast triathlon with a course that is second to none then you have found it, plus we have new and improved age divisions this year!

Your registration will include a t-shirt, medals, nutritional snacks and drinks.  Compete individually or build your dream team.  Whether you are an avid triathlon enthusiast, or a first time wannabe, Yankton's Best Tri has something for everyone.  We thank you for participating in Yankton's Best Tri, as the proceeds from this event go towards making Yankton and the surrounding area "a better and more meaningful place to live".

  • Friday Night: 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the race site
  • Saturday (Race Day): 7:00am - 7:30am (Packet Pickup closes promptly at 7:30am)

Efficient and safe start will be in 15 second waves for men, women and teams.  1/4 mile swim in beautiful Lewis and Clark Lake.  14 mile bike ride across Gavins Point Dam, into Nebraska and east along the Missouri River, over the new Discovery Bridge, through downtown Yankton and then back out to the lake.  Finish the race with the flat 3.1 mile run through the trails along Lewis and Clark Lake.

Please note: Helmets are required during the bike phase.

Hotel & Lodging

  • There will be camping available at Lewis & Clark Lake by calling (605) 668-2985.
  • Rooms are available at the Lewis & Clark Resort.  The resort is located next to the transition area.  Their phone number is (605) 665-2680.
  • There will also be a block of rooms available for Saturday and Sunday night at the Best Western Kelly Inn in Yankton.  Their number is (605) 665-2906.
